In my work, I combine evidence-based approaches like acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based practices with a deep understanding of the creative process and what it means to be an artist in a difficult world.

In my clinical work, I use a person-centered approach, centering the client and their lived experiences, while bringing my expertise and knowledge to the therapy space to provide guidance and structure.

In my workshops and consulting, I bring the same individualization, care, and expertise to the work. My goal is to help students, artists, creative teams, and institutions develop lasting strategies to promote resilience and overall well-being.

Testimonials

  • I had the pleasure of attending Alyssa's workshop for creatives a couple of years ago, and I find myself still thinking about the lessons I learned there. I gained a lot from Alyssa's combination of kindness, gentleness, and firm action plans to help us move towards what we wanted as artists and humans. Alyssa did an excellent job walking a difficult line of both reducing the shame we might feel about not being where we wanted to be, while also giving us tangible and actionable ways of getting where we wanted to be. I have recommended Alyssa as a therapist and clinician to anyone who was looking for support, and will continue to.
