Meet Alyssa

Hi! I’m a performer and therapist in New York City, and I specialize in working with creatives, performers, emerging adults, and queer New Yorkers. I offer individual therapy, as well as groups for people interested in fostering creativity. My experience as a queer performer (and former young adult) gives me firsthand insight into the concerns my clients bring to therapy.

After graduating from North Central College with a B.A. in Theatre Performance, I spent the next several years as a musical theatre performer. I decided to pivot to theatre education in 2017, earning my master’s degree in Educational Theatre from New York University. During that time, I got very interested in mental health for performers and creatives, and pivoted once again to mental health counseling. I got my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School in 2024 and have been practicing as a therapist in NYC ever since.

I currently practice as an MHC-LP at Insight Therapy NYC, where I benefit from brilliant supervision, incredible colleagues, and a beautiful office space. Specializing in working with creatives, artists, young adults, and queer folks, I see all kinds of concerns, from depression and anxiety to trauma, OCD, body image, creative block, imposter syndrome, burnout, life transitions, and identity.

My approach is collaborative, warm, and infused with humor to create a space where you can be completely yourself. My goal is to help you explore your patterns, heal the way you relate to your thoughts and feelings, and move toward a more fulfilling life.

If any of this resonates with you, please schedule a consultation today so we can talk about how I can help. <3
